Japan-based genetic testing company Genesis Healthcare Co is planning to enter into eight Asian countries and regions by establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary, Genesis Healthcare Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore.
The company said in a statement that the new entity started operations on April 2, with a branch in Taiwan. Operations in other countries and regions will follow.
The company built the largest private genetic databases comprising the Japanese population in East Asia, mainly in eight Asian countries and regions (Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) since 2015.
Genesis Healthcare Asia Pte Ltd will serve as the hub in Asia as the demand for genetic testing services has drastically increased.
The new entity would offer its proprietary genetic research and genetic testing services across Asia in the areas of clinical and consumer testing.
