Eco World Foundation has donated two Hemodialysis machines worth RM85,400 to the KPS St John’s Ambulance Foundation Hemodialysis Center, here today.
The machines were handed over by Eco World Foundation Chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye to St John’s Ambulance Malaysia ambassador Datuk Lai See Ming.
Lee said the donation of the machines was to replace the aging machines at the dialysis centre.
"We expect St John’s Ambulance Foundation to provide hemodialysis services more frequently to patients. In fact, it also helps to improve hemodialysis services for patients at the centre.
"This is not the first time the Eco World Foundation has helped St John’s Ambulance Foundation as we had previously helped them provide assistance to the less fortunate," he said.
Lee met by reporters here yesterday, said Eco World Foundation has donated RM220,000 for the purchase of hemodialysis machines to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to provide treatment at their respective centres for the less fortunate.
"Eco World Foundation is honoured to be given the opportunity to contribute, since the number of chronic kidney patients increases every year.
"Recent statistics revealed that a total of 7,000 new chronic kidney patients need treatment annually, while the number of patients waiting for kidney organs is around 20,000m,” he said.
