It has not been easy for Mohd Noor Firdaus Mohd Salim to find a job as he is a slow learner.

When the 20-year-old attended a job fair for people with disabilities (PwDs) in Kulai recently, he hoped against hope that he would find an opening that would help him to become more independent.

It was his lucky day. Not just one but several companies participating in the fair interviewed him and some of them showed a keen interest in hiring him.

The job fair was organised by the Johore state Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with the Kulai District Office.

Mohd Noor Firdaus is among a growing number of PwDs in Johor who have succeeded in securing employment, thanks to the relevant government policies and employers' openness to recruiting them.
