The Defence Ministry has outlined six key objectives to strengthen the healthcare services of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) towards its personnel, veterans and also the public through the ATM Health Services Transformation Plan 2017-2050.
Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the objectives were strengthening the professionalism of the military health practitioners; mainstreaming the military medical services; and developing the best healthcare system for personnel, veterans and their families.
Others are upgrading the infrastructures to provide conducive, quality and balanced health services; empowering health infrastructure in bases and fields including polyclinics and existing ATM hospitals; and ensuring the health services of the armed forces to remain relevant through the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) smart partnerships with all parties.
The plan is a collaboration between the ministry and Ministry of Health to prove the government's continued commitment in safeguarding the welfare of ATM staff, he s after launching the plan at the Terendak 94 Military Hospital here today.
Also present were Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron and Armed Forces Chief Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor.
