Sarawak has recorded one more COVID-19 fatality, bringing the death toll due to the virus in the state to 22 .
The State Disaster Management Committee said the case involved a 51-year-old man who was admitted to the Miri Hospital on Jan 18 after experiencing breathing difficulty.
The man died yesterday.
“The patient was screened for COVID-19 on Jan 18 and was found to be positive on Jan 20. He was suffering from end stage renal failure which requires dialysis treatment,” JPBN said in a statement today.
Sarawak reported 132 new COVID-19 cases today, which raised cumulative cases in the state to 2,702.
Meanwhile, JPBN also announced that the Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Beluru and Kanowit districts remained as red zones with a total of 1,206 local cases reported in the five districts in the last 14 days.
