Medical specialists in government hospitals are likely to enjoy promotion opportunities until special grade TURUS III, said Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa during a working visit to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) recently, adding , he would discuss with the Public Service Department (PSD) on the review of promotion opportunities of hospital clinical staff nationwide.
Reportedly, he explained that, although the clinical scheme normally enables prompt promotions and Grade 56 has also been introduced recently, he has to look into the position of the Public Sector Major Positions (JUSA) for civil servants in hospitals.
"Nowadays via time-based (existing specialists) they can reach up to JUSA A and maybe we need to think of promotions until the Special Grade TURUS III for large hospital specialists to recognise their contributions," Ali said.
During the visit, the PUSPANITA Advisor also announced an RM300,000 allocation for the setting up of a special unit to treat victims of chemicals. “The RM100,000 from the allocation was PUSPANITA's contribution while the balance was allocated by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), in the Prime Minister's Department, “ he added.
