More than 1,100 participants took part in the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia's (USIM) 'Nocturnal Run 2.0' programme held within the USIM compound at night to promote a healthy lifestyle among students and others.

The Nocturnal Run 2.0 was flagged off by USIM Vice-Chanselor (Students Affairs and Alumni) Professor Datuk Dr Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan at the TunkuNajihah Sports Complex in USIM at about 9pm last night.

Nocturnal Run 2.0 programme coordinator Marwan Tahir said the Nocturnal Run 2.0' organised for the second time had shown good improvement in terms of participation and that it augers well for the future of such programmes.

"The run was divided into two categories, namely for staff, students and alumni while the second category was for members of the public. Both categories received overwhelming response. The increase in participation among USIM staff is also a positive development towards the FitUSIM agenda."

"The participation of members of the public is also a good way to promote the university and at the same time introduce a good programme to promote a healthy lifestyle," he said in a statement, here today.

Marwan said main roads of the USIM campus was used as the main route for the 5km run.
